January 2014 Richard K. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. 

 

January 22, 2014 Richard K. Hellerman obtains summary judgment in Cook County Circuit Court – After a 90 minute hearing, Mr. Hellerman obtained summary judgment on behalf of a container manufacturer against a lease broker for return of an equipment lease deposit.  The Court awarded Mr. Hellerman's client the full amount of the deposit plus costs and attorney's fees. 

 
October 2, 2013 Richard K. Hellerman obains landmark Appellate decision for banks pursuing defaulting mortgagors – In an important ruling that defines the options available to banks against mortgagors who default on their payment, Mr. Hellerman scored a victory in the Illinois Appellate Court, obtaining an affirmance of the dismissal of a complaint against a bank client.  Turczak and Lew v. First American Bank, et al., 2013 IL App (1st) 121964.  UPDATE:  On January 29, 2014, the Illinois Supreme Court denied plaintiffs' Petition for Leave to Appeal.
